Project Name: Skokie Valley Trail Improvements

Intended Recipient: Cook County Department of Transportation and Highways, 69 W Washington St, Suite 2400, Chicago, IL 60602
Explanation of Request: Funding would facilitate the completion of a 4.2-mile gap in the Skokie Valley Trail, a long-running project and a major priority for several communities in the area. A completed trail will better connect commuters and recreational users utilizing Skokie Valley Trail.

Project Name: Rand/Kensington/IL-83 Intersection Improvements

Explanation of Request: Funding would facilitate major intersection improvements at the intersection of Illinois Rte. 83, Kensington Road, and Rand Road, a major source of congestion for the area.

Project Name: Renovations for Re-opening of the High Ridge YMCA

Explanation of Request: Funding would facilitate renovations needed to re-open the recently shuttered High Ridge YMCA. Improvements include roof and masonry repairs, HVAC replacement, new sprinkler system implementation, and more.

Project Name: River Trails Storm Water Project

Explanation of Request: Funding would facilitate the creation of additional water detention space and the installation of upsized storm sewers to mitigate recurring risk of damage to a neighborhood that sees frequent flooding during significant rainfall events.

Project Name: Black Ensemble Educational Outreach Studio Theater

Explanation of Request: Funding would facilitate much-needed renovations of Family Focus Evanston's "Our Place" building. Renovations would include replacing aging and leaking windows, plumbing fixtures, HVAC, electrical, etc., in addition to renovations ensuring ADA accessible restrooms, and more.

Explanation of Request: Funding would facilitate implementation of a pilot program aimed at providing significant supports to minority-owned small businesses in our community. The program would include creation of an online dashboard for business owners to better connect them with resources and services based upon their specific needs, development of best practices for participating businesses through regular engagement with Loyola program staff and students to hear about their needs and operations, and tracking how the assistance provided has impacted their situation.

Project Name: Muslim Women Resource Center's Afghan Refugee Resettlement Program (Phase 2)

Explanation of Request: Funding would facilitate implementation of phase 2 of the organization's Afghan Refugee Resettlement Program. This includes funding for two 8-passenger vehicles, a program coordinator, and two drivers/mentors who will ensure that refugees are able to reach important appointments and events as they work to integrate into our community. Funding also allows for insurance, mileage, and gas costs for one year.

Project Name: Apna Ghar's Mobile Advocacy Program
