Climate change is real and it is in large part the result of human activity. It is the most serious threat to our environment, our health, and our way of life. We have taken some steps to reduce the risks of global warming, but much more can and should be done.
Congresswoman Schakowsky Co-Sponsors the Climate Action Now Act

Jan Schakowsky, a Senior Chief Deputy Whip and Vice Chair of the Democracy Reform Task Force, co-sponsored H.R. 9, the Climate Action Now Act, House Democrats’ new legislation that would require the United States to remain in the Paris Climate Accord and to develop a serious plan for how the United States will meet its commitment to reduce pollution.

"While H.R. 4447 alone doesn't meet the scale of investment needed to fully confront the climate crisis, the Clean Energy Jobs and Innovation Act makes needed reforms to update U.S. energy policy and authorizes major investments in the transition to a low-carbon future.
Today, Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky released the following statement to mark Earth Day 2018 and announced the reintroduction of the Water, Cosmetics, and Unwanted Pharmaceuticals (Water CUPS). The Water CUPS Act, H.R. 5548, seeks to examine the impacts of prescription drugs and cosmetics entering our drinking water supply:

While the climate corps piece was not included in the bipartisan infrastructure deal President Biden and a group of Senators came up with, House Democrats will include it in our reconciliation package.
