Schakowsky Statement on President Trump's Latest ACA Sabotage

Representative Jan Schakowsky, a Chief Deputy Whip, released the following statement after the Trump Administration announced they would slash funding for outreach efforts during the upcoming Affordable Care Act (ACA) Open Enrollment period:

“President Trump has once again showed his determination to undermine Americans’ access to health care. Today, he announced his plans to cut funding for ACA plan enrollment information and independent counseling by 90 percent. As we prepare for the 2018 open enrollment season that begins on November 1, that decision will leave many Americans without the means to make the best choices for their families’ health. Shame on him for denying the help and information that my constituents need.”
