Schakowsky Statement on the Passage of the Yemen War Powers Resolution

Today, Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky released the following statement on passage of the Yemen War Powers Resolution:

“The House of Representatives passed a very important piece of legislation, the Yemen War Powers Resolution, yesterday on a bipartisan vote. Congress sent the President a message: Stop the U.S. military from participating in a campaign that is causing one of the most significant humanitarian disturbances in the world.  For too long the United States has been a party to a Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates-led proxy war against Iran in Yemen. I call on the Senate to pass this bill immediately, and on the President to heed the directives of Congress, so we can bring an end to this disastrous conflict.”
