DEMOCRATIC CHAIR FROST APPOINTS REPRESENTATIVE SCHAKOWSKY TO THE HEALTH AND MEDICARE TASK FORCES

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Democratic Caucus Chair Martin Frost (D-TX) today announced the appointment of Representative Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) to the Health and Medicare Task Forces. Representative Schakowsky will play a critical role in the development and communication of a policy agenda on these key issues.

Representative Schakowsky said, "The Democrats in Congress have once again taken the lead to reform the health care system for working families and to protect Medicare for senior citizens. That is why I am proud to join the Health and Medicare Task Forces to help develop plans to address these critical issues and to communicate our agenda to the American people."

Representative Frost said, "Democrats are working to address the every day, kitchen-table concerns of American families, and Representative Schakowsky will play a critical role in developing solutions to these concerns."

A main focus of the Health Task Force will be the Patients' Bill of Rights, while the Medicare Task Force will address ways to protect and save Medicare for Seniors.
