HOUSE MEMBERS INTRODUCE BIPARTISAN RESOLUTION COMMENDING TURKEY & GREECE

WASHINGTON, D.C. U.S. Representative Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) joined three other House members in introducing a bipartisan resolution commending Turkey and Greece. The resolution, H. Con. Res. 188, commends Turkey and Greece for their mutual cooperation and swift response to the recent earthquakes in both countries and for their assistance in providing each other with humanitarian aid and rescue relief.

"I am pleased to join with my colleagues in introducing this resolution. I commend the nations of Turkey and Greece for their efforts to help each other at a time of great loss and tragedy. I will work with my colleagues in Congress to ensure that the United States assists both of these long-standing allies in rebuilding after the earthquakes," Schakowsky said.

Representative Mike Bilirakis (R-FL) is the chief sponsor of the Resolution. In addition to Schakowsky, the Resolution is cosponsored by Representatives Carolyn Maloney (D-NY) and Dan Burton (R-IN).
