Rep. Schakowsky Statement on President Obama's Letter On Poland Inclusion in Visa Waiver Program
Â
Washington, D.C. (Saturday, May 28, 2011) — Rep. Jan Schakowsky issued the following statement in response to President Obama's letter concerning Poland and the Visa Waiver Program:Â
"I want to applaud President Obama for his strong commitment to improving ties with our ally Poland and including Poland in the Visa Waiver Program.Â
As a cosponsor of pending legislation to provide that inclusion and make it easier for Poles to travel to the United States, I was thrilled to receive the President's letter announcing his support for the bill. Passage of the Secure Travel and Counterterrorism Partnership Program Act, HR 959, is so important to the Polish American community in the Chicagoland and in my district.
I look forward to winning its enactment soon under the leadership of President Obama and its sponsor Rep. Quigley."
