SCHAKOWSKY: BUSH ADMINISTRATION'S MISSTATEMENT OF THE DAY -
STATE OF THE UNION
WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Representative Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) issued today's "Bush Administration's Misstatement of the Day" on the State of the Union.
On January 28, 2003, President Bush delivered his State of the Union Address. He said: This country has many challenges. We will not deny, we will not ignore, we will not pass along our problems to other Congresses, to other presidents, and other generations. We will confront them with focus and clarity and courage."
However, a report compiled by the Center for American Progress details the many "challenges" the Bush Administration as failed to address, including the economy, health care, national security and education.
