SCHAKOWSKY PAYS TRIBUTE TO THE BRAVE CREW OF THE SPACE SHUTTLE COLUMBIA

WAHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Representative Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) today joined her colleagues in honoring the life and contributions of the seven brave men on women of the Space Shuttle Columbia. The House Approved H. Res. , legislation expressing condolences of the House of Representatives to the families of the crew members of the Space Shuttle Columbia.

"I join citizens form across the world to pay tribute to the men and women of the Space Shuttle Columbia who were lost on Sunday and offer my deepest condolences to their families and loved ones," Schakowsky said.

"On that sad day, the United States, the State of Israel and India lost seven brave visionaries. But during their time on our planet, those heroes were living their dreams of reaching out for the stars. They risked their lives for the sake of improving the lives of all humanity. To truly honor their legacy, accomplishments, and lasting contributions, the United States must remain committed to lead the world in space exploration," Schakowsky added.
