Schakowsky Releases Statement In Response to Shooting Death of Kaylyn Pryor

WASHINGTON, DC - Today, Representative Jan Schakowsky (IL-09) released the following statement in response to the tragic shooting death of Evanston resident, Kaylyn Pryor:

“Kaylyn Pryor’s life was filled with so much hope and promise. Last night’s tragic shooting took place as she was on her way home from her grandmother’s and has ripped from us another young life only just beginning to realize their full potential. This senseless act of violence is yet another reminder of the work we must do to root out violence from our communities. As an Evanston native, I feel particularly touched by this tragedy. My thoughts and prayers are with her family during this truly difficult time.”
