Schakowsky Statement on Aurora Shooting

WASHINGTON– Today, Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky, a Senior Chief Deputy Whip, released the following statement on the senseless shooting in Aurora, IL:

“My heart is with the victims whose lives were taken by a gunman in Aurora yesterday,” Schakowsky said. “I am thankful for the first responders who placed their lives on the line to stop the shooting. Tragedies like this are far too common in our country and we must act now. Gun violence is an epidemic that requires bold legislative action to ensure no more lives are lost to these senseless acts.”
