Schakowsky Statement on the IAEA's Report on Iran

Today, Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky released the following statement after the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) certified that Iran remains in compliance of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), also known as the “Iran Deal”:

“The IAEA has certified that Iran is in compliance with the historic JCPOA, affirming once again that the Iran Deal has thus far prevented a nuclear-armed Iran. The IAEA is the international authority on nuclear inspections. The Trump Administration’s political demands for further inspections are unnecessary and imperil the progress that we've made. Whether Mr. Trump will admit it or not, the Iran Deal is working. Instead of threatening to undo the deal, he should be using it as a model for how to deal peacefully with hostile nations with nuclear capabilities.”
