Schakowsky Statement on New House Democratic Leadership

WASHINGTON – Today, Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky (IL-09), a Senior Chief Deputy Whip and Chair of the Consumer Protection and Commerce Subcommittee of the Energy and Commerce Committee, released the following statement on the new candidates for House Democratic leadership:

"Our future generations are counting on us now, more than ever. The American people made it clear in the last election that we need leaders who care about the issues that matter to working families and reject extremism. We need leaders who will fight for our right to vote, our reproductive freedoms, a healthy environment for the 21st century, and an economy that puts people first.
