SCHAKOWSKY STATEMENT ON PRESIDENT BUSH'S FAILED IRAQ STRATEGY
CHICAGO, IL - U.S. Representative Jan Schakowsky, a founding member of the Out-of-Iraq caucus, today released the following statement in response to President Bush's speech laying out his administration's Iraq strategy:"On a political damage control mission today, President Bush offered more of the same failed war strategy. Rather than laying out an exit strategy, President Bush continued to draw false links between 9/11 and the war in Iraq, and ignore the growing chaos and violence facing our soldiers."
"President Bush must be wearing rose colored glasses and blinders as he watches the war in Iraq. The American people have lost patience with a misguided war that is taking the lives of our soldiers nearly every day, and a Commander-in-Chief who refuses to face the facts on the ground. Public and political pressure will continue to mount until President Bush tells our troops when they will be out of harm's way."
