Schakowsky Statement on Terrorist Attack on Israeli Tour Bus in Bulgaria

Washington, D.C. — (July 18, 2012) Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) released the following statement today after a terrorist attack on an Israeli tour bus in Bulgaria left at least 7 dead and more than 20 wounded:

"I am deeply saddened by today's despicable terrorist attack against Israeli tourists in Bulgaria that killed and injured innocent men, women, and children. My thoughts and prayers are with the families, friends and loved ones of those who were senselessly massacred.

These anti-Semitic, anti-Israel attacks anywhere in the world must be strongly condemned. The President has said that the United States has an unshakeable commitment to Israel's security and I expect a robust effort to find out who is responsible for this act of terrorism....
