Schakowsky to Vote Against House GOP's Israel Security Supplemental

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Representative Jan Schakowsky (IL-09), released the following statement on her opposition to H.R. 7217:
“The extremist Republicans’ Israel Security Supplemental is another cynical political game that alienates our allies in Ukraine, denies urgently needed assistance to Palestinian civilians, and leaves out funding to protect our places of worship. I cannot, in good conscience, vote for this bill.
“We must come together and work in good faith to meet our nation's and our allies' most pressing security threats, while also ensuring civilians impacted by conflicts around the globe get the humanitarian assistance they need.”
