JOINS DEBORAH LYNCH, THE PRESIDENT OF THE CHICAGO TEACHERS' UNION, TO GREET FACULTY AND STUDENTS AT CHRISTIAN EBINGER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
CHICAGO, IL - U.S. Representative Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) welcomed elementary school students and teachers back to school on Tuesday morning, September 3, 2002. Schakowsky was joined by Deborah Lynch, the President of the Chicago Teachers' Union, to greet faculty and students at Christian Ebinger Elementary School.
Schakowsky, who holds a degree in Elementary Education from the University of Illinois and was a teacher in the 9th Congressional District, is working to secure federal funds to modernize and construct new schools, to hire 100,000 new qualified teachers, and to reduce class size.
