SCHAKOWSKY REACTS TO LATEST
TERRORIST ATTACK ON INNOCENT
CIVILIANS IN ISRAEL

CHICAGO, IL - U.S. Representative Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) issued the following statement after the terrorist attack in Jerusalem that claimed the lives of innocent Israelis, including children, and injured many civilians.

"This is a very sad day for the people of Israel and all people who long for peace, including Palestinians. Lost were brothers and sisters, sons and daughters in this senseless attack. Let us hope that out of this unspeakable tragedy, the commitment will emerge to stop the terrorist attacks once and for all.

"While the attack was condemned by PM Abbas, there needs to be the will by the Palestinians to dismantle terrorist organizations. I say that not only for the security of the State of Israel, but for any future Palestinian state as well.

"The path to peace will not be short-circuited. We have to continue to move forward, but this kind of attack on civilians can not be tolerated, now or ever."
