WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Representative Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) today said that the Republican estate tax repeal plan is wrong for Illinois farmers, small business owners, and American taxpayers.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - During a hearing today of the House Government Reform Committee, U.S. Representative Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) expressed concerns to the U.S. Postmaster General and representatives of the Government Accounting Office about the looming financial status of the U.S. Postal Service. Schakowsky specifically pointed to the freeze on capital projects, including 25 in Illinois and two in her district in the Skokie and Edgebrook.

CHICAGO, IL - U.S. Representative Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) today said that big oil gouged consumers in Chicago and the Midwest last year. According to a Federal Trade Commission (FTC) report, oil companies withheld supplies to drive up the price of gasoline at the pump. Schakowsky and other colleagues asked the FTC to conduct the investigation last year.
