WASHINGTON, D.C. U.S. Representative Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) issued the following statement in reaction to the passage of H.R. 1875, the Interstate Class Action Jurisdiction Act of 1999.

"I am disappointed that the House of Representatives approved H.R. 1875, the Interstate Class Action Jurisdiction Act of 1999. This legislation is unnecessary.

SCHAKOWSKY -- TIME IS RUNNING OUT FOR CONGRESS TO PASS GUN SAFETY LEGISLATION THIS YEAR

WASHINGTON, D.C. U.S. Representative Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) today warned that time is running out for Congress to pass gun safety legislation this year.

"In just a short period of time, I attended three funerals in my home town of Evanston. I cried with grieving parents burying their children because of senseless gun violence. I do not want to attend any more funerals, console any more parents, or bury any more children," Schakowsky said.
