WASHINGTON, D.C. U.S. Representative Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) announced that she has been appointed to the Government Reform Subcommittee on Criminal Justice, Drug Policy and Human Resources.
The Subcommittee examines issues relating to the Immigration and Naturalization Service, the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Education and the Department of Justice.

This is the first of 16 forums scheduled to be held nationwide by women House members to develop strategies and build grassroots support to pass federal gun safety legislation this year.
