This resolution comes in response to President Trump’s insistence on blaming “both sides” for the violence in Charlottesville, Virginia and excusing the behavior of neo-Nazis, neo-Confederates, and white supremacists in the “Unite the Right” rally.

Today, Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky sent a letter to William J. Cadigan, Chairman of the Illinois State Board of Elections, calling for Illinois to withdraw from the Interstate Voter Registration Crosscheck System. The letter raises concerns that the Crosscheck System may be used to improperly purge voters from the rolls and could put Illinoisans’ personal information at risk.
