SCHAKOWSKY WINS AN ADDITIONAL $750,000 FOR PARKING NEEDS AT THE ARMORY
WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) and U.S. Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) today said the Senate Appropriations Committee has approved $3 million to renovate the Broadway Armory in Chicago.
Durbin is a member of the Defense Subcommittee that initially cleared the funding, which is included in the Fiscal Year (FY) 2002 defense spending bill.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Representative Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) today said that H.R. 3210, the Terrorism Risk Protection Act, is another special interest giveaway that harms the public interest. Schakowsky opposed the legislation, which was passed by the House, and instead supported a substitute that was a responsible response to the tragedies of September 11.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Saying that victims of identity theft must have a fair opportunity and enough time to vindicate their rights, U.S. Representative Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) today introduced the Protect Victims of Identity Theft Act of 2001 with U.S. Representative Spencer Bachus (R-AL), Chairman of the Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit.
