WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Representative Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) joined her Democratic colleagues to oppose a Republican-sponsored funding bill that fails to meet our nation's education and health priorities. The bill is $6.2 billion below the President's request.
WASHINGTON, D.C. U.S. Representative Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) today warned that time is running out for Congress to pass gun safety legislation this year.
"In just a short period of time, I attended three funerals in my home town of Evanston. I cried with grieving parents burying their children because of senseless gun violence. I do not want to attend any more funerals, console any more parents, or bury any more children," Schakowsky said.
