"Three years ago, the Supreme Court delivered the devastating Citizens United decision which allowed corporate and special interests to flood campaigns with unlimited amounts of money. That decision allowed wealthy people and special interests to have a disproportionate influence in our elections.

Washington, DC (January 15, 2013) — Today Rep. Jan Schakowsky, along with Rep. Henry Waxman and 43 House Members, introduced H.R. 261 the Public Option Deficit Reduction Act. This bill would offer the choice of a publicly-run health insurance plan, an option that would save more than $100 billion over 10 years.
Washington, DC (January 15, 2013) — Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) has reintroduced H.Res. 29, a resolution urging the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to implement the Next Generation Air Transportation System, efforts to enhance the safety of air travel and help decrease noise levels.

The Ability-to-Repay rule, which was required under the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, goes a long way to protect homeowners from the toxic loans that crippled our economy and have so far resulted in over four million foreclosures.
