SCHAKOWSKY APPLAUDS CONGRESSIONAL ACTION TO ENSURE DO-NOT-CALL LIST GOES INTO EFFECT NEXT WEEK
WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Representative Jan Schakowsky (D-IL), ranking Democrat on the Commerce, Trade and Consumer Protection Subcommittee, today joined her colleagues to quickly pass legislation to ensure that the Do-Not-Call List goes into effect next week as scheduled. Earlier this week, a U.S. Federal District Court ruled that the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) lacked the authority to create and operate the Do-Not-Call list. H.R. 3161 states that the FTC can operate the list.
