URGE FTC TO PRESENT PRELIMINARY FINDINGS TO CONGRESS BEFORE END OF JULY

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) and U.S. Representative Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) today called on Federal Trade Commission Chairman Robert Pitofsky to continue the investigation into possible illegal price gouging by oil companies.

SCHAKOWSKY IS AUTHOR OF H.R. 3901, THE ANTI-PREDATORY LENDING ACT OF 2000

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Representative Jan Schakowsky (D-IL), a member of the House Banking Committee, today testified before the Congressional Women's Caucus during a briefing on predatory lending. Schakowsky is the author of H.R. 3901, the Anti-Predatory Lending Act of 2000, a bill to protect consumers from financial predators. Consumer advocates and experts also testified during the briefing.

"Consumers should have full control over their private financial and medical records and Congress must offer the American people real protections," Schakowsky said.
