“NAFTA has failed North American workers. It has depressed wages, outsourced jobs, and busted unions. The agreement has also wreaked havoc on our environment.
“Any renegotiation of the deal will have a long way to go to address these flaws, and I look forward to reviewing the U.S. – Mexico deal announced yesterday to see what sort of progress has been made. This is a deal negotiated behind closed doors. Now it is out in the open for all to see, analyze and judge.
Today, Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky released the following statement in response to the United Nations Independent International Fact-Finding Mission on Myanmar, which released its initial report on Monday:
“The United Nations today proclaimed what many of us have known for some time: the violence against the Rohingya people in Myanmar is a state sponsored genocide, and the military perpetrators should be prosecuted accordingly.
“I hope that Governor Rauner has access to good health insurance. He’ll need it to deal with what must be an unprecedented case of whiplash.
“This week, the Governor claimed credit for moving to expand the ACA’s essential health benefit package to include opioid addiction treatment and new mental health benefits. That’s a good thing.
