Washington, DC (April 30, 2012) - Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) released the following statement to recognize the students at McCracken Middle School in Skokie, Illinois who created the organization Aiding Children Together (ACT) to fight for children's rights across the globe :
"Today, I recognize the extraordinary students at the McCracken Middle School in Skokie, Illinois, who are working to improve the lives and futures of children around the world.
I joined CNN on Monday night to talk about the latest on the negotiations for the #BuildBackBetter Act and the Bipartisan Infrastructure bill.
The #BuildBackBetter Act delivers once-in-a-generation action to lower the everyday costs that burden working families in Illinois and around the country– from health care to child care & more – fully paid for by making big corporations & the wealthiest pay their fair share.
The Child Tax Credit Is Here
Beginning July 15th, nearly all working families will automatically receive Monthly Child Tax Credit Payments of up to $300 per child through the end of this year.
