“It is heartening to see President Trump engaging in diplomacy instead of hurling childish insults at a nuclear-armed dictator via Twitter. This meeting was a great photo op both for an American President seeking to prove his deal-making skills and for a despotic tyrant looking to appear powerful on the world stage. Unfortunately, the ‘agreement’ that came out of it includes no firm commitments from North Korea, no reporting or inspections regimes, no plan for denuclearization, and nothing at all that should reassure the American people that North Korea will put an end to its barbaric behavior.

“U.S. Ambassador to Israel David Friedman’s latest comments underscore the fact that he is unfit to serve in this critical position. By attempting to turn overwhelming bipartisan support for the state of Israel into a partisan political issue by claiming ‘there’s no question Republicans support Israel more than Democrats,’ and through statements that undermine longstanding U.S. policies in the region, he is a disgrace to U.S. diplomacy.

"In a narrow 5-4 decision, the U.S. Supreme Court today took basic freedoms away from America’s working men and women, denying them the right to stand together to challenge corporations that deny fair wages and safe workplaces. In Epic Systems v. Lewis, companies argued that they should be allowed to require mandatory arbitration as a condition of employment – essentially taking away workers’ right to a day in court against an unscrupulous employer. In a democracy, individuals should be able to hold wrongdoers accountable.
