Today, Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky, a Chief Deputy Whip, released the following statement to celebrate the Women, Peace, and Security Act being signed into law. This bipartisan bill, which Rep. Schakowsky authored along with Rep. Kristi Noem (R-SD), Rep. Eliot Engel (D-NY), and Rep. Ed Royce (R-CA) in the House, promotes the participation of women in resolving conflicts around the world. It was passed by the Senate in August, then by the House on September 25th, and was recently signed into law by President Trump.
Today, Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky led eight of her Democratic colleagues in a letter to Roger Severino, Director of the Office of Civil Rights (OCR) at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
