SCHAKOWSKY CALLS FOR ACTION ON DARFUR GENOCIDE

WASHINGTON, DC -- U.S. Representative Jan Schakowsky joined other Members of Congress today at a press conference on Capitol Hill to condemn the genocide in Sudan and to urge Congress and the President to take action to restore security to the Darfur region. The event was sponsored by the Congressional Black Caucus and Jewish Members of Congress, highlighting the shared concern of the African American and Jewish communities over the genocide in Sudan.

WASHINGTON, DC - U.S. Representative Jan Schakowsky (D-IL), whose district includes the City of Evanston and Northwestern University, today released a statement congratulating the Northwestern women's lacrosse team on their national championship. Representative Schakowsky joined the team this morning at a White House ceremony honoring NCAA champions.
