TAX CUTS AND SMALL BUSINESSES
WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Representative Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) issued today's "Bush Administration's Misstatement of the Day" on tax cuts and small businesses.
According to a Washington Post article today titled "Bush Assertion on Tax Cuts Is at Odds With IRS Data," President Bush, responding to calls by Democrats to roll back the tax cuts on those with taxable income of more than $311,950, said:

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Representative Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) issued today's "Bush Administration's Misstatement of the Day" on science and research.
During an interview on National Public Radio, which aired on February 20, 2004, Dr. John H. Marburger, President Bush's Science Adviser, said: ". I take the responsibility very seriously to see that the agencies do the science properly and have smoothly functioning advisory panels."

SCHAKOWSKY JOINS IN HONORING FALLEN WWII HERO JOHN SKLENA
CHICAGO, IL - U.S. Representative Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) today joined in honoring John Sklena, a World War II hero who was killed in action in Germany, on September 17, 1944. He served with the 3rd Armored Division, 36th Armored Infantry Regiment, 3rd battalion, and is buried in Henri Chappel cemetery in Belgium.
