WASHINGTON, D.C. -- U.S. Representative Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) today expressed her strong support for the "Families First: 1999 Democratic Agenda" during a news conference with President Clinton, Vice President Gore, and Congressional Democrats.
Rep. Schakowsky said, "This is a pro-working families, pro seniors, and pro public education agenda that will address kitchen table issues affecting every American. It will help improve the quality of life for the people of Illinois and the citizens of our nation."

While countless words have been spoken and many volumes have been written about Casimir Pulaski's life, I believe his contributions to his native home and his bravery on behalf of his adopted land are immeasurable.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- With the Senate trial of President Bill Clinton expected to conclude shortly, U.S. Representative Janice Schakowsky (D-IL) urged Attorney General Janet Reno to immediately terminate the appointment of Kenneth Starr as independent counsel.
In a letter to Reno, Schakowsky cited Starr's wasteful spending of taxpayers' dollars and his "personal and political vendetta" toward the president.
