CHICAGO – Saturday marked 20 years since President Bill Clinton signed the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) into law on September 13, 1994. The landmark legislation creates critical protections for victims of domestic violence and dramatically strengthens the nation’s criminal justice response to violence against women. Rep. This bill is one of several included in the historic and newly reintroduced "Momnibus" package of legislation to address the Black maternal health crisis in the United States.

This bill is one several included in the new, historic "Momnibus" package of legislation to address the Black maternal health crisis in the United States.

Washington – Today, U.S. Representatives Jan Schakowsky (IL-09) and Sydney Kamlager-Dove (CA-37) introduced “Anna's Law.” This legislation would expand trauma-informed training for law enforcement personnel related to sexual assault cases.

Washington – Today, U.S. Representatives Jan Schakowsky (IL-09) and Sydney Kamlager-Dove (CA-37) introduced Anna's Law in recognition of Sexual Assault Awareness Month. This legislation would expand trauma-informed training for law enforcement personnel and emergency medical technicians (EMTs) related to sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking cases.
