Washington, D.C. (August 6, 2012) — Today, Rep. Jan Schakowsky released the following statement after a mass shooting in Oak Creek, Wisconsin killed six people in a Sikh temple:
"I am deeply saddened by the tragic, senseless shooting at a Sikh temple in Oak Creek, Wisconsin. My district has a large, active and highly respected Sikh community. My heart goes out to the families and friends of the six people killed and others wounded in this horrific crime.
