“The Attorney General’s appearance this morning was unprecedented and inappropriate. The nation’s leading prosecutor is serving as a spin master for President Trump. The American people would be wise to disregard his unprofessional and unnecessary characterizations of the President in regards to this report.
“It is clear that we cannot take this Attorney General at his word, which is a dangerous situation for our nation. We need to study the full report now.

Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky, Chair of the Consumer Protection and Commerce Subcommittee of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, today called on Mattel to issue a recall for the Fisher Price Rock ‘n Play. With at least 32 deaths associated with the use of this infant sleeper, it is beyond time to remove this item from store shelves and online markets.

WASHINGTON, DC – Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky, a Senior Chief Deputy Whip and Chair of the Energy and Commerce Committee's Consumer Protection and Commerce Subcommittee, today introduced the Stop Tip-Overs of Unstable, Risky Dressers on Youth Act of 2019, H.R. 2211. Tipping furniture presents a serious risk of injury and death to children. Furniture or items on top of furniture such as TVs can fall onto a child, causing the child to be crushed, trapped, or struck by falling objects.

The bill passed the House of Representatives by a vote of 232-190.

Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky, a Senior Chief Deputy Whip, and Representatives Buddy Carter (R-GA), Ron Kind (D-WI), and Mike Kelly (R-PA) lead a bipartisan reintroduction of H.R. 2150, the Home Health Care Planning Improvement Act of 2019. Representatives Susan Wild (D-PA) and David Joyce (R-OH) also joined as original cosponsors. The bill will authorize nurse practitioners, certified nurse-midwives, clinical nurse specialists, and physician assistants to certify patient eligibility for home health care services under Medicare.
