WASHINGTON - Today, Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky, a Senior Chief Deputy Whip and member of the Gun Violence Prevention Task Force, released the following statement on the passage of gun violence prevention legislation:

WASHINGTON - Today, Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky, a Senior Chief Deputy Whip and a senior member of the House Budget Committee, voted to pass President Biden's American Rescue Plan Act, which was approved in the House of Representatives by a vote of 220-211.

WASHINGTON - Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky, a Senior Chief Deputy Whip and a Co-chair of the House Democratic Task Force on Aging and Families, led a letter from the Task Force to IRS Commissioner Charles Rettig and Social Security Administration Commissioner Andrew Saul. The letter highlights the problems many Seniors have faced in accessing their Economic Impact Payments issued as part of the CARES Act passed by Congress last March.

The letter reads in part:

EVANSTON – Today, Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky, a Senior Chief Deputy Whip and Chair of Consumer Protection and Commerce Subcommittee of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, announced that Syd Terry would be her new Chief of Staff and Kate Durkin would become her new Legislative Director. Both currently serve on her staff and are being promoted from their current roles as Legislative Director and Legislative Counsel, respectively.
