WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Representatives Jan Schakowsky (IL-09) and Pramila Jayapal (WA-07), alongside U.S. Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL), Chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, led 103 of their colleagues in a letter to President Joe Biden calling on his Administration to designate the Palestinian territories for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and/or authorize Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) for Palestinians present in the United States. TPS and DED offer temporary relief from removal and work authorization for eligible foreign nationals already in the United States who are unable to return safely to their home country.

WASHINGTON - Today, U.S. Representatives Jan Schakowsky (IL-09), Rosa DeLauro (CT-03), and Debbie Dingell (MI-06) introduced the No Toxics in Food Packaging Act to ban bisphenol A (BPA), per- and polyfluorinated substances (PFAS), ortho-phthalates, styrene, and antimony trioxide from being used in food packaging and processing materials because science has demonstrated that these chemicals are detrimental to human health – they can cause cancer and disrupt hormones to name a few effects.
