WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky (D-IL), Co-Chair of the Task Force on Aging & Families, Congressman Lloyd Doggett (D-TX), Chair of the House Ways & Means Health Subcommittee, and Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal (D-WA), Chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, led over 30 Members in responding to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Request for Information on the Medicare Advantage (MA) program.
WASHINGTON – Last Friday, Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky (D-IL), Chair of the Consumer Protection and Commerce Subcommittee, and Congressman Jeff Duncan (R-SC), a member of the Energy and Commerce Committee, introduced the Consumer Product Safety Inspection Enhancement Act, H.R. 8134. This bill would give the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) the power to prevent unsafe and counterfeit products from entering the United States, protecting consumers in the United States.
CHICAGO – U.S. Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky (D-IL-09) and U.S. Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) today joined consumer protection advocates and local business leaders to call for the passage of their bipartisan Integrity, Notification, and Fairness in Online Retail Marketplaces for Consumers (INFORM Consumers) Act. This legislation would combat the online sale of stolen, counterfeit, and dangerous consumer products by ensuring transparency and verification of high-volume third-party sellers in online retail marketplaces.
WASHINGTON – U.S. Representative Jan Schakowsky (IL-09), U.S. Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL), U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL), and U.S. Representatives Mike Quigley (IL-05), and Sean Casten (IL-06) sent a letter to the U.S. Postal Service Board of Governors to express their concern over the inadequate response to the rise in violent crime against mail carriers. The letter comes after lawmakers received an apathetic response to a letter in July that called on Postmaster General Louis DeJoy to protect postal workers.
